Pedestrian hit by vehicle in SOMA

Police are investigating a collision that seriously injured a pedestrian in San Francisco's South of Market District Saturday morning, according to the Police Department.

Officers responded to a collision at about 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Folsom and Sixth streets, police said.

Preliminary reports indicate a pedestrian was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries when struck by a vehicle, police said.

Further details were not immediately available Saturday morning pending further investigation, police said.
