CHP responded to a report of a multi-vehicle crash at about 6 a.m. just east of an interchange between Highway 580 and Interstate Highway 680, CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said.
Preliminary reports indicate that a victim is trapped in one of the involved vehicles, and emergency crews have blocked two right lanes and the right shoulder of Highway 580 to assist, Van Eckhardt said.
A Sig-alert was issued at about 6:20 a.m.
