Wherever she went, Michelle Obama showed off the creativity of American designers.

Whether it was a royal occasion or meeting the former fashion model first lady of France, one writer called her a "one-woman stimulus package."

Many fashion designer students at the Academy of Art University are preparing for the graduation fashion show in two weeks.

They are designing fashions of the future, and maybe that will include a White House wardrobe.

"This is a great evening coat she could wear with a chic dress underneath. The closure will fit up here, so it could peek out underneath," Jessica Bergstrom, a senior specializing in knitwear.

"Potentially it could be a really big segeway for Michelle to starting wearing eco-friends garments," said fashion design student Maria Korovilas.

"I would love to see her in a fitted off the shoulder or strapless ball gown with nice embellishment in a subtle but impressionable color," said fashion design student Tramaine Tilman.

What excites these students is that the clothes Mrs. Obama is wearing come from both little know American designers and established names.

"I think she reflects the country in the way she dressed in a sense," said Korovilas

"It's confident and bold yet subtle, elegant at the same time graceful," said Tilman.

"People need to see our icons and role models are wearing things we could wear, too," said Bergstrom.

The students give Mrs. Obama a fashion grade OF "A"

The European press used words like poise, style grace to describe Mrs. Obama, and said she may have upstaged her husband. Or she makes mistakes just like the rest of us and that's why we love her, or stunning, confident.

The glamour continues back home. A wax figure of Michelle Obama has been unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Washington, D.C.
