Most of the outages started at about 4 p.m. Tuesday, PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said. As many as 25,800 customers were without power at 6 p.m.
As of 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, there were 80 customers without power in the North Bay; 29 customers in the East Bay; 39 customers in San Francisco; 1,100 customers on the Peninsula; and 90 customers in the South Bay.
Most of the outages appear to have been caused by winds that reached 60 mph in certain parts of the Bay Area, Guidi said.
Power is expected to be restored to all PG&E customers later this morning.
