CPMC makes big cuts across the board

California Pacific Medical Center is making across the board cuts, in an effort to trim another $30 million in operating expenses.

The recession has hit the hospital hard, which is treating fewer patients than expected.

It announced Wednesday that it is eliminating 200 positions on top of the 200 already cut, trimming managers' salaries by three-percent, and imposing a pay freeze on all employees except those who earn less than 50,000 a year.
