BART board hires group to examine police

BART officials say NOBLE will be asked to examine all aspects of the department, including hiring practices, policing policies and the department's overall culture. NOBLE is a non-profit organization made up of law enforcement members from across the country. The decision comes nearly four months after a white BART officer shot and killed /*Oscar Grant*/, an unarmed black man, at the Fruitvale BART station. /*Johannes Mehserle*/, the officer involved in the shooting, is now facing murder charges.
