Young San Jose engineers win award

A team of budding engineers from San Jose was honored at the state capitol Thursday for its award winning robot.

The "Iron Mantis" -- the green one -- was built by kids from the San Jose Job Corps and the School for Integrated Academics and Technologies.

It's already won contests in Hawaii and Silicon Valley, competing against teams from some of the nation's top public and private high schools.

The Mantis finished in the top 20-percent of a world championship competition in Atlanta.
