SFO employees take flu precautions

"We don't need to pass a law on this but I think the secretary of transportation should get on the phone with every airline and say please, we are asking you to make this public health announcement at the beginning of every flight," said Congresswoman Eshoo.

At SFO, ticket counter employees for Japan's All Nippon Airways are now wearing protective surgical masks.

They were asked by local management to use them, voluntarily, because they share counter space with other airlines that service Mexico.

A number of travelers are taking the same precaution, but security workers who asked permission to wear masks, were told no because it might unnecessarily worry passengers.
