Palace of Fine Arts restoration underway

Restoration work on major sections of the Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina is almost finished.

The palace is the only remaining monument from the site of the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition.

Restoration work is almost done on the palace's rotunda and colonnades. The fences are expected to come down later this month.

The next phase of the $21 million project will begin in the fall, including landscaping and restoring the rotunda floor.
