The palace is the only remaining monument from the site of the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition.
Restoration work is almost done on the palace's rotunda and colonnades. The fences are expected to come down later this month.
The next phase of the $21 million project will begin in the fall, including landscaping and restoring the rotunda floor.
