Prowler interrupted in Burlingame

The incident occurred at about 5:15 a.m. in the 1400 block of El Camino Real, where the prowler was allegedly trying to enter apartments through ground floor windows, according to Burlingame police.

The suspect, described as a white man in his mid 20s who had a medium build and was wearing a dark baseball cap and dark striped shirt, tried to enter two separate apartments, police said.

He removed the screens from two windows but was not able to gain access to either apartment before being scared away by the two people walking their dog, according to police.

The suspect was last seen running from the area eastbound on Grove Avenue, police said.

He was not captured, and the Burlingame Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact investigators at (650) 777-4100.
