The CHP responded at about 5:45 a.m. to a report of an overturned vehicle in a field off of eastbound Highway 24, just east of Gateway Boulevard, CHP Officer Mike Wright said.
Investigators believe the crash likely happened overnight and was only reported when noticed at first light Tuesday.
Given the number of times the vehicle appeared to have overturned before coming to rest, investigators believe the driver may have been speeding before he lost control, Wright said. The driver was the only person inside the car.
The CHP is continuing to investigate the crash, Wright said.
