The CHP says the victim was about to catch a ride with his friend outside Rodeo -- when a third person came out of nowhere with a gun, and demanded the vehicle. The driver hit the accelerator -- and in the confusion, plowed right into his friend, and then dragged him down the road.
The driver's truck was peppered with bullets fired by the suspect, but he was not hurt. Police are still looking for the carjacker.
