Officers responded to numerous 911 calls requesting help at a home on Grand Street at around 11:15 p.m., police said. The first responding officer allegedly saw a woman screaming for help on the ground beneath 44-year-old Patrick Skillsky.

When the officer tried to stop the assault, Skillsky allegedly grabbed his throat and choked him to near unconsciousness, according to police. When the officer broke free, Skillsky grabbed his leg and punctured it with his hand, police said.

A second officer arrived and was also attacked, according to police. Skillsky reportedly punched him in the head before additional officers arrived and overpowered him.

One officer was hospitalized with serious injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police, and the second officer received treatment for his injuries at the scene.

The female victim was hospitalized with injuries to her face, neck, throat and arms.

Skillsky was booked into San Mateo County jail for inflicting injury to a spouse, assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, battery on a police officer with injury, threatening and intimidating a witness, death threats and burglary.

His bail was set at $1,000,000.
