UC staff may see furloughs, pay cuts

UC president Mark Yudof plans to submit a plan outlining several cost-cutting options to the Board of Regents in July.

One of the options is to cut pay by eight percent, saving $200 million.

UC's funding was slashed by more than $800 million; that's been partially offset by federal stimulus money and student fee increases.
