The 5-acre fire started around 4:15 p.m. at Camp Parks.

A couple of fireworks deputies were setting off got out of control sparking the grass fire. Ironically, the deputies were demonstrating just how powerful those fireworks were.

They blew up a case of M-1000 professional-grade fireworks, a small part of a cache confiscated from a house in Oakland. Each one was as powerful as a quarter stick of dynamite.

No injuries or property damages were reported.
