Baby gorilla joins rest of the group at SF Zoo

San Francisco got its first look Thursday at a first look at a family portrait featuring the Bay Area's most famous gorilla.

Hasani, the gorilla born at the zoo in December, joined his new family for their first public debut.

It is a moment that makes the San Francisco Zoo proud.

Over the past two months, the zoo has slowly introduced Hasani to five other gorillas, one-by-one, and he has successfully joined the troop.

One of the gorillas stepped in to serve as Hasani's surrogate mother after he was abandoned at birth.
