Two-alarm Oakland fire displaces seven

OAKLAND, CA

Neighbors reported the fire at 1717 E. 21st St. around 4 p.m. and everyone inside had evacuated safely by the time firefighters got there, Battalion Chief Lisa Baker said.

Six engines and two trucks responded, and the firefighters contained the flames within about 20 minutes, Baker said.

No one was injured.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
