"The Nation" is reporting that Clinton made the statement while speaking to a national conference of young progressives. It's a complete reversal from statements the former president made in years past.

Clinton opposed same-sex marriage during his presidency, and signed the defense of marriage act in 1996, limiting federal recognition of marriage to one man and one woman.
