Supervisors approve plan for UCSF helipad

In San Francisco Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors gave unanimous approval to a helipad at the UCSF medical center planned for Mission Bay.

Neighbors have raised objections to the noise it will cause, but the pad will be built as far away from homes as possible and will only be used for the most life threatening emergencies.

The center is scheduled to open in 2014.
