Chloe Lampard's family got Muffy for her as a gift from the pound when she was 8-years-old. The two were inseparable, but nine years ago, the dog disappeared. Now, Chloe is 17, and she and Muffy are back together.
Muffy was found at a home that was under investigation for a suspected case of animal cruelty. She had a micro-chip in her neck which identified her.
It is unclear how Muffy traveled so far.
The people who live at the house where she was found said they found her wandering the streets of Melbourne about one year ago.
