The pole the raccoon was perched on supports the net that is used at the driving range so that errant balls don't hit vehicles or windsurfers.
It took rescue workers atop a fire ladder and on the ground, about an hour to rescue the curious critter after a long cat and mouse pursuit. They eventually managed to get the raccoon to climb down from the pole and onto the net, from where it later fell more than 40 feet and was quickly scooped up by an animal control worker.
It is believed the raccoon had been posting up since Wednesday night.
