The accident was reported at 12:09 p.m. at Taraval Street and 34th Avenue.

Muni spokesman Judson True said the man driving the automobile was taken to San Francisco General Hospital. He did not know the extent of the man's injuries.

At the time of the crash, the L-Taraval train was traveling west on Taraval and the car was traveling south, True said.

The intersection is controlled by stop signs on 34th Avenue for cars approaching Taraval Street, but there are no stop signs for traffic traveling east or west on Taraval, True said.

Bus shuttles were set up along the L-Taraval line between Sunset Boulevard and 22nd Avenue during the disruption. The crash was cleared and service was restored at 1:15 p.m.
