Bomb squad investigates at SFO

A security screening area was partially evacuted after a suspicious piece of luggage was detected at San Francisco International Airport Wednesday afternoon.

Bomb-sniffing dogs detected the package at a SFO security checkpoint around 4:15 p.m.

The domestic terminal was partially evacuated and passengers were taken to another screening area. The security checkpoint remains closed.

The bomb squad is on scene investigating the luggage.

An airport spokesperson says no flights have been delayed or cancelled. The checkpoint reopened just after 6 p.m.
