In Del Mar, dogs and their dudes rode the waves for a good cause. The Dog Surf-a-Thon raises money for animal shelters in the San Diego area.
Surfers were judged on their ability, form and the length of time they can stay on the board. No bonus points were awarded for going backwards though.
50 dogs competed in the surf and in a contest for canine "beach bums" and "bikini babes."
