The shooting happened at about 7:10 p.m. in the area of 24th and
Shotwell streets, according to police. A male victim was killed and a second
victim was injured, police said.
Police did not immediately release a suspect description.
An employee at Philz Coffee, located about a block away at 3101
24th Street, said she heard sirens go by but that the business was not
affected. She said there was no panic within the store, but that some
customers who came in were "a little shaken up."
