The closures will allow Caltrans to inspect steel eyebars on the cantilever section of the bridge. The closure this week will be from 11 p.m. on Saturday to 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. Future closures will be scheduled on either Saturday or Sunday night.
You may remember a cracked eyebar was found over the Labor Day weekend, forcing Caltrans to keep the bridge closed longer than planned.
Crews will be making sure the repairs on that cracked eyebar are still holding up.
