Christopher McCowan, a Democrat, is running for the 31st assembly seat that Juan Arambula has to give up because of term limits. He says he can reach across party lines:
"My main thing would be fighting for water because I see the farmers on TV and their children and that is devastating. They need water because he needs food," said 31st Assembly candidate Christopher McCowan.
McCowan, a political science major from Fresno College, ran for the same assembly seat as a write-in candidate last year.
