The City Council voted to increase meter rates by 25 cents an hour to $1.50. The increase is expected to generate about $1 million in additional revenue to the city.

The council also voted to add 420 new meters around San Pablo Avenue, between Camelia and 10th Streets.

The council will take a second vote on the increases before they become final.
