At 9:30 am school officials began evacuating Verde Elementary School on Giaramita Street in Richmond.
The kids were all moved to Dover Elementary four blocks away on 21st Street in San Pablo and parents are being advised that they can pick up their children there. PG&E officials are trying to determine exactly what the problem is but expect the evacuated school will be able to reopen Wednesday.
There is no word on whether this is related to the storm.
