Organizers say it's important to celebrate the group's life-saving commitment to the community.
Mountain View resident DJ Mitchell was one of the honorees, he's donated more than 550 times.
"Once you donate, you find out it's a pretty easy process, quite satisfying, and you know you're helping out," said Mitchell.
Along with recognizing the donors, Thursday's event was also a call to get more people to donate. The Blood Center says it's below minimum inventory in six out of eight blood types.
