Tuesday's demonstration comes after last week's union vote authorizing a strike.

About 9,000 hotel workers have been working without a contract since mid-August. Rising health care costs is a major sticking point.

Five years ago, a strike cost hotels between $50 million and $100 million.

Negotiations will resume sometime next week.
