Richmond shooting leaves 1 dead

Officers went to the 1000 block of Roosevelt Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. on reports of a shooting. As officers responded to the area, police were notified of two shooting victims who had arrived at a nearby hospital.

Preliminary reports indicate the victims were driving in the area of Harbour Way and Roosevelt Avenue when a suspect shot at their vehicle, police said. The men managed to drive to the hospital, where one victim was pronounced dead and another remains in critical condition.

No suspect information was immediately available and a motive for the shooting is under investigation.
