Commercial crab fishermen loaded their pots bright and early Saturday morning at Pier 45 in San Francisco.

The crab season for the Central Coast started Saturday and some fishermen may start taking their pots out of the water as early as midnight Saturday or possibly Sunday.

The first boats may come in around noon Sunday.

Between 1 million and 1.5 million pounds of crab are expected to be plucked from Half Moon Bay to Bodega Bay through June 15th when the season ends.
