The San Francisco police and fire officials got into the spirit of the holidays Wednesday as they held their annual turkey carving event at the Salvation Army's Harbor Light Center.

City fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White even joined the officers.

The hundreds of turkeys carved Wednesday morning will eventually end up on the dinner tables of poor and elderly residents around San Francisco.
