Authorities say there have been about a dozen burglaries in the past month in the Lombard Street area.
Police say there appears to be a pattern where the suspect or suspects have taken items that fit into a backpack, such as jewelry, laptops or other electronic equipment.
Anyone with information on the crimes should call San Francisco police.
