Salvation Army holds celebrity bell ringing

SAN FRANCISCO

This is the 29th year of the Salvation Army's celebrity bell ringing.

Media personalities and movers and shakers were taking their turn to ring the bells.

ABC7's arts and entertainment reporter Don Sanchez was one of those taking his turn to collect donations from shoppers.

New this year, the Salvation Army can even take credit cards.

The Salvation Army says 85 percent of the money it collects goes right back into its charitable programs.
