Jesse James Crowder, 24, was booked into the Sonoma County jail for fighting in public and assaulting two officers.
Police began receiving calls at 11:50 p.m. about a fight at the Cantina bar and restaurant at 500 Fourth Street in Santa Rosa.
Sgt. Lisa Banayat said security at the restaurant told police the upstairs fight involved 80 people. Another caller told police "the bouncers can't handle it," Banayat said.
The crowd was hostile and belligerent, and police used a dog for crowd control, Banayat said. Police shut down the 500 block of Fourth Street to cars so police could disperse the large group, Banayat said.
Crowder allegedly punched an officer in the chest while police were breaking up the fight, physically resisted police and head-butted another officer during the scuffle, Banayat said.
An ambulance was called to the scene but no one was hospitalized, Banayat said.
