The Army arrested specialist Alexis Hutchinson last month after she failed to show up for deployment to Afghanistan. Hutchinson said that was because she was unable to find childcare for her son.
Her son, Kamani, ended up in Oakland with Hutchinson's mom who is also caring for her own elderly mother, and a special needs daughter.
Hutchinson is asking to be discharged because of her difficult childcare issues.
