In Los Angeles police are getting ready to give away 10,000 pairs of fake Nike and Adidas shoes to homeless people.
Before this new law took effect, counterfeit goods had to be destroyed; now they can actually help someone in need.
Police do have to take off the labels and get permission from the trademark owner.
