If you are struggling financially there is a way you can get free medicine and save thousands of dollars a year.

Many people have resorted to cutting pills in half to make them last longer. But there is help from the Partnership for Prescription Assistance, a consortium of drug manufacturers that provides free medicine for those in need.

Rules vary, but typically you qualify for free medicine if you are an uninsured individual making less than $21,000 a year, or a family of four making less than $44,000 a year.
