Driving conditions treacherous near Lake Tahoe

There's a lot of new snow in the Sierra mountains, now and more is going to fall over the next few days.

Conditions are great for skiing, snowboarding, sledding, or throwing snowballs. The snowstorm caused tough driving conditions and the roads are treacherous.

Caltrans has workers out on 12-hour shifts clearing out the snow, and chain controls have been in effect.

Traffic was fairly light on Tuesday afternoon, as if folks decided to avoid the drive to Tahoe.

Still, it was enough to keep CHP hopping from one accident to another along parts of interstate 80.
