Funnel cloud spotted over Contra Costa County

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA

At 1:28 p.m., Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado near Discovery Bay or 9 miles south of Oakley, moving southeast at 5 mph.

A shelter in place was temporarily in effect for Discovery Bay.
