Firefighters are looking for a person unaccounted for. The fire started at near Caine Avenue and Lakeview in the outer Mission just before 4 a.m.
It took a little more than an hour for fire crews to get the flames under control.
Firefighters have searched the building several times, but could not locate the person they are looking for.
There's no indication yet what caused the fire.
