Ford unveils new delivery truck in SF

SAN FRANCISCO

The "Transit Connect," as Ford calls it, combines the chassis of a standard truck, with an electric drive system.

Developed in the United States, it goes about eighty miles on one overnight charge, which Ford says makes it perfect for companies that run delivery trucks over set, daily routes.

ABC7's Wayne Freedman got to take it for a spin.

Ford expects the Transit Connect, and its batteries, to last well more than 120,000 miles. It will go on sale later this year, but Ford hasn't yet announced its price.
