Some of the best yo-yo'ers from across the state were in Sacramento this weekend for the California Yo-Yo Championship.

Players from as far away as Hawaii and Japan wowed spectators with tricks like "Splitting the Atom" and "Eli Hops."

The winner took home a $1,000 first place prize.

The world's second-oldest toy is experiencing a 21st century revival. The winner of the state competition moves on the regionals, with an eye toward the World Yo-Yo Contest being held in Florida this year.
