Study say sdrinking could help women stay slim

BOSTON, MA

Doctors at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston found that women age 39 and older who drank the equivalent of one to two drinks a day were 30 percent less likely to gain weight than women who did not drink at all.

Researchers say the reasons "why" are still unclear. However, other studies show that even moderate drinking might raise the risk of breast, liver and other cancers in women.

The findings are published in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
