Dublin students assemble prosthetic hands

DUBLIN, CA

Dozens of students at Valley Christian High School took part in the event.

The devices did not require surgery. They simply strap on.

It was made possible by donations from suppliers and $15,000 raised by the students themselves.

Sarah Williams, 17, began working on it a year ago.

"For me to help people like that, that is the number one priority and there's so much need in this world to help someone, really changes lives," said Williams.

Williams says the devices will be sent wherever they're needed most - maybe to Haiti or to the victims of landmines.
