Officers contacted Danville resident 40-year-old Michael Vawter of 54 Grassland Court after receiving an anonymous tip that he had child pornography on his computer at work, according to San Ramon police.
A search warrant was obtained for his work computer at a business in San Ramon and for his home in Danville, police said.
Photographs depicting pornographic images of children were allegedly found on his work computer.
Vawter is a Cub Scout den leader in the Town of Danville, police said.
He was booked at the Main Detention Facility in Martinez with bail set at $20,000.
The case remains under investigation.
