Crews working on the Mercy hospital ship in San Francisco have accomplished their mission.

The ship was moved into San Francisco Bay Wednesday after being in dry-dock for maintenance since January.

The Mercy is the lead ship of her class in the U.S. Navy. It has sailed the world providing aid in times of war and natural disaster.

It is the third-largest class of ship in the Navy, surpassed only by the Enterprise and Nimitz class super carriers.
