The drill is called "Operation Cornerstone Response." it includes more than 100 employees testing the corps ability to manage and jump start relief efforts.
"This is all about responding to a national emergency or any kind of all hazardous situation that we may encounter or in the 10-state area that the Southwest Division overseas," Col. Rock Donahue from the U.S. Corps of Engineers said.
Most of the work is done from inside mobile operations centers, where staffers can plug in and help coordinate rescue and relief efforts, and support FEMA.
